Divorce happens the same way everywhere. The support available for it does not.

Rebuilders International runs in three regions, each with its own site, its own language where that differs, and its own local programs. The method is shared. Everything about how it reaches people is local.

How the regions work

Each region is run by people who live there. That is not a courtesy — it is the only arrangement that works.

Divorce is universal. Divorce law, family structure and what people will admit to a stranger are not.

A facilitator in Australia is working with clients under a different legal system, different custody norms, and a different relationship to talking about feelings in a group. Someone running a Spanish-language program is working where extended family plays a larger role in a separation and where the shame attached to divorce often sits differently.

The RIFT framework holds across all of it, because the phases describe what happens inside a person rather than what happens in a courtroom. Everything around the framework is set locally: schedules, pricing, venues, language, and how a program is described to the people who need it.

What is shared

The method, the assessments, the facilitator training and the data. Every region administers the same Fisher Divorce Adjustment Scale, which means results are comparable across countries and everyone contributes to the same body of evidence.

What is local

Facilitators, schedules, pricing, venues, language and marketing. Regional operators run their own programs as their own businesses.

Opening a new region

We add regions when we find the right person, not according to a map. A region needs someone who is established where they live, trained in the method, and prepared to run it as a business rather than a hobby.

If that describes you, the place to start is the facilitator training. Local programs grow from trained facilitators far more often than they arrive as fully formed plans.
